Want to Know a Bit More About Me?
Who is Jono?
My career began at BBC Wiltshire Sound (as was), as a trainee in 1993. Initially working on the Afternoon Show, I started to appear on air regularly and then became a fixture within the programme.
Bitten by the bug, I moved to North Devon for a couple of years at the end of the 90's, to present the 10-2 show and then the drive show at Lantern FM.
I was there at the start of the stations rejuvenation with the Rajar figures going from 26% to 38% during my two years.
Then a few years freelancing at some real blasts from the past, Bath FM, WFM (Weston), CAT FM (Cheltenham), FM107 The
Falcon (Stroud) and Bristol’s 107.3 The Eagle. Prior to the Eagle's re-launch to Star, I presented various shows, including a stint on Breakfast.
Then came 9 wonderful years, working with wonderful people in Warminster. I was proud to be the first voice of 107.5 3trFM on 5th November 2001, becoming Programme Controller two years later.
As well as management duties, I was on air daily, including more than 4 years on Breakfast. The station saw some of the highest average hours in the country, hitting 14.5 for two
quarters in a row during 2008. In 2009, soon before a takeover and closure, we saw a station record of 27% reach for two consecutive quarters.
Since 2011 I have mainly been working in BBC Local Radio, mainly in Wiltshire.
As well as proving regular cover for shows across the station, including weekday breakfast and Saturday sport, I hosted the Sunday Breakfast show for around 5 years and have presented the Late Show across the West and later the South-West of England.
I have also presented programmes at BBC Radio Gloucestershire, including the daytime 10-2.
